Remedies to Ease A Bad Day

Everyday is supposed to be a happy day, but not everyday will be. If it is one thing that the 80’s has taught me is that you take the good. You take the bad. You take them both and there you have, the facts of life. The facts of life. Over the years, I have had many bad days and have seen others have bad days. Today, I would like to share with you a few remedies that I have discovered on my own and from others, how to help ease a bad day.

Vent to a friend. Sometimes all anyone really wants to do is vent their frustrations to someone else. It is a very healthy way to deal with your bad day. Bottling in your frustration, anger, sadness, is not good. Venting will not only ease your mind, it will litterally feel like a weight off of your body. But please, don’t just call your friend and start ranting. Explain that you are having a bad day and then proceed to tell them why. They will appreciate the warning and so will you.

Buy yourself something nice. This was a weird piece of advice that was given to me by my father. I was having a bad day and vented to my father. He told me to go out and buy something. He said when he was upset, he would go out, buy something nice, and he would be in a happier mood. You will be in a better mood with your new item and your bad day won’t seem so bad at all. It’s worked for me, but after I bought me my laptop, I had another bad day when I saw my credit card bill. So my advice? Buy something nice that you can afford that can make you happy.

Go to sleep. During college, when my friend failed a test, he would go to sleep. He would go to sleep in hopes to wake up to a new day and a fresh start. I used this advice several times during my college career. Not that I had bad grades, I just had several bad days. It’s worked like a charm.

Beer + Movie. This is my remedy. I will probably add this onto venting to a friend and buying myself something nice. I would buy me something nice, a nice cold brew. Then vent to my friend while drinking the brew all the while watching a movie. Watching a movie always keeps my mind off things. It whisk me away to a world that doesn’t so closely resemble hell. And the beer helps a lot too.

Do you have any remedies? Let me know.
